Meeting on October 21, 2018

Our photography club's 3rd meeting for the school year 2018-2019, took place on Sunday, October 21, 2018.
On our meeting we discussed about several  subjects:
1. Questions related to the artistic aspect of photography:

  • Should we add emotions, feelings, messages, symbols, etc to our photos? (answer: NO!).
  • Should we take a lot of different shots of the same subject? (answer: YES).
  • Should our photos have several interpretations? (answer: YES)
2. How the aperture of the lens and the shutter speed affect the exposure of the photograph?
3. Practice technical methods as listed above
4. Critique of the photos that were taken by our club’s members
Of course we also played some ice-breaking games. Take a look at the photos from the meeting:

Practice with Nikon D3200

Experimenting on taking shots while changing the shutter speed and the aperture

Something is wrong with our lips...

In the photography experiment that we did, a member of our club posed as a model and the rest of us did the following:
Firstly, we took a series of photos with fixed aperture f/8 and in every shot we were changing the shutter speed by one stop (from 1/30sec to 1/2000 sec).We noticed that gradually the photo became darker.

Nikon D3200 --- AF-S DX 18-55mm.      55mm --- ISO 400

Afterwords, we took a series of photos with fixed shutter speed 1/60 sec and in every shot we were changing the aperture value by one stop (from f/5.6 to f/32).We noticed again the same thing: the photo gradually became darker.
