The Lyceum
of Kontariotissa (https://lykkonta.mysch.gr/) hosts students from the villages
of Pieria, located at the foot of Olympus, the
famous mythical mountain. Specifically, the students come from the following
villages: Platanakia, Dion, Karitsa, Vrontou, Agios Spyridonas, Kontariotissa
and Nea Efesos.
Within the
cultural program of extracurricular activities "The art of photography",
coordinated by the Physical Education Teacher Georgios Toulis, the photographic
club was created.
The members
of the club meet every Sunday, usually in the school library (https://lyk-kon-lib.webnode.gr/). In the meetings we
learn and practise photography techniques, study the work of the Masters of
Photography, learn about the evaluation criteria of photography, assess and critique the photographs taken by the members and
discuss about art in general.
Although
the team was active since 2015, it was only in October 2018 that the
blog was created, in order to be used as a way of promoting
its activities. The members’ photos are uploaded to Flickr on each member's
personal account. A gallery that includes some selected photos taken by the members
